Three Classic Gin Cocktails with a Purist twist!
We've curated three classic gin cocktails that every gin-lover should know how to make. Iconic, delicious, minimal ingredients and all simple to make!
We recommend using our Purist Black 57, navy-strength gin as it's higher ABV allows for a more concentrated botanical flavour that stands up to cocktails. However, our standard Art gin works fabulously as well
Purist Gin Fizz
Gin and elderflower are a match made in heaven, this simple cocktail is floral and fruity and guaranteed to impress at a dinner party!
Ingredients:
- 25ml Purist Art Gin
- 12.5ml ElderFlower Liqueur/Cordial
- Prosecco to top
Method:
Shake together the elderflower liqueur/cordial and the gin with plenty of ice, before straining into a flute glass and topping with a generous glug of prosecco!
Martini
Perhaps one of the most recognisable and classic cocktails out there, thanks to everyone’s favourite gentleman spy. We like to let our gin do the talking, hence why we prefer our martinis on the drier side.
Ingredients:
- 60ml Purist Art Gin
- 15ml Vermouth
- Lemon Twist
Method:
Chill your Martini glass if you care about that sort of thing. Get your gin and dry vermouth into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, add ice and stir for no longer than 20 seconds. Double-strain the mixture into your Martini glass and garnish with a fresh twist of lemon.
Negroni
Ingredients:
- 25ml Purist Black 57
- 25ml of Vermouth Rosso
- 25ml of Campari
- Plenty of Ice
- Orange Slices
Method:
We've kept it classic with our Purist Negroni. Simply add our navy-strength gin, Vermouth Rosso and Campari to your cocktail shaker with plenty of ice and STIR!
Typically a negroni is built in the shaker or glass and stirred with ice in order to avoid too much dilution and cool the drink down nicely.
